Natural Skin Care

Introducing our new logo!

natural bases

The base ingredients for all my products are natural, including mango butter, beeswax, safflower oil, sunflower oil, watermelon seed oil, and many more for the skin-loving benefits and reduced petrochemical burden. For the sake of much-requested scents and flavors, I do use synthetic flavor or fragrance oils at times, and I do use a preservative in the skin scrubs...because nobody wants a fungal or bacterial infection when trying to look nice! One of the main reasons I got into making skin care products was for the health and safety of my family, and now my concern extends to providing quality, safe products to you and yours as well!

environment conscious

Many products are based on hyped-up miracle ingredients of the moment, or the cheapest possible, without regard for the source. Ingredients such as palm oil are in so many products, yet the source is often wiped out without regard to the animals and plants in the area, leaving a habitat in peril. I try to avoid using palm oil at all, and if an ingredient is required from a palm source, I make sure it is RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) Certified sustainable palm oil. However, most of my ingredients are from other sources such as watermelon seed oil, a very renewable resource. Another problem is big companies exploiting the local workers, leaving poverty in their wake. In an effort to be globally conscious, I endeavor to source fair-trade ingredients that are not endangered whenever possible. Also, all containers are at least partially recyclable or made from recycled material.

Pure essential oils

When the desired scent can be obtained using essential oils safely, I use oils only from companies like Plant Therapy, Eden Botanicals, Nature's Garden, and AV-AT. I am not affiliated in any way with these companies, but I use them because they have been tested to be pure, unadulterated essential oils by third party testing and have proven to be trustworthy companies. I also make sure to appropriately dilute essential oils to 2% or less for daily use in lotion bars and lip balms or 3% or less for the wash-off scrub products.

My Products

I believe simpler is usually better, especially when considering things such as allergies and sensitivities. Therefore, I try to keep every recipe as simple as possible while maintaining a stable, skin-loving product with fun (and often beneficial in the case of essential oils) scents. I also disclose which essential oils, if any, are used in each product in the ingredients list.

If you'd like a scent or a product I don't have, let me know! I'm always open to suggestions, and I'd love to hear from you!
